Certified Nurse Assistant

Join a team where you can make a difference, providing direct care and support to people in our community who need it. Become a CNA.

Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) play a key role on our health care teams. In addition to providing high-quality, direct patient care, they communicate important information to other care team members. On any given day, our CNAs:

  • Assist patients and residents with day-to-day needs
  • Help with patient charting and reporting
  • Explain care instructions to patients and family members
  • Support other members of the care team
  • And more!
Don't have a CNA license? We can help with that!

Meet the aide to CNA starter program. Offered by Spectrum Health Continuing Care, this program provides on-the-job health care experience and tuition assistance to individuals looking to gain CNA certification.

Candidates for this program begin as a Unit Aide in a rehab and nursing center, training alongside a CNA or licensed nurse in the delivery of quality patient care. Within 60 days of hire, you will be enrolled in a state of Michigan approved CNA class. This unique program covers all the costs of the CNA training and pays you for the hours spent in classes. Upon graduation and receipt of CNA certification, participants are promoted to a CNA position and receive up to a $2,000 bonus.
